Advertising Festival to Have "Magic Touch"

Portoroz, 18 May

Slovenia's biggest advertising festival is to stress the importance of the sense of touch as it is put on for the 13th time this year. The Golden Drum, which places special emphasis on advertising in the former Eastern Bloc, will be held this year between 1 and 6 October in the seaside resort of Portoroz, the organisers said on Thursday.

According to the festival's official website, the event is to carry the motto "The Magic Touch" to underscore the importance of the sense of touch.
Like in previous years, the competition section of the festival is to be dominated by regional advertising, although ads from elsewhere will also get their chance.
Apart from the traditional categories of television, printed, radio and Internet ads, the festival is also to include ghost ads in the competition section this year.
Most of the ghost ads - messages that have not been commissioned by anyone - include ads that have never been published or have been created by the advertising agencies for their own promotion at festivals.
The festival will also see a two-day media meeting, a creative academy featuring lectures from foreign experts.
Another highlight will be a presentation of top-of-the-line advertising by Michael Conrad of the Berlin School of Creative Leadership.
