The Slovenian government decided that two Slovenian soldiers would be taking part in the European Union's mission in support of peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The government last week also adopted a bill aimed at safeguarding the right to trial in a reasonable time. The bill is a response to judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, which has ruled in dozens of cases that Slovenia has failed to provide an effective remedy in respect of the excessive length of proceedings.
All parliamentary parties bar the opposition LDS signed up in principle to the development partnership, a scheme put forward by PM Janez Jansa to find broad consensus on government-sponsored economic reforms.
