The Slovenian Student Organisation (SOS) has joined protests in France against a new employment law that would give greater leverage to French employers in firing and hiring young people.
The Slovenian student officials have been in Paris since Monday and have joined French students in protesting against the new law, SOS said in a press release.
Moreover, SOS representatives met their French counterparts to hand them a letter of support. They told them that Slovenian students also faced government attempts to curtail student welfare.
According to SOS, the French National Student Organisation (UNEF), expressed solidarity with the efforts of Slovenian students to fight for their rights.
SOS officials also reiterated their intent to stage a protest if the Slovenian government refused to enter into a 13-point deal on basic student rights.
Slovenian students demand free tuition for unemployed students, the passage of an act on grants, 20,000 new grants and 5,000 new student beds.
