The long-term director of the Slovenian Alpine Skiing Fund, Tone Vogrinec, received the Viktor for lifetime achievement at a gala ceremony at arts centre Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana on Saturday evening.
Vogrinec is credited with the rise of Slovenian Alpine skiing from the late 1970s onwards. After having run the Fund for years, he was replaced on Monday by Bojan Krizaj, one of the country's most successful skiers of all time.
A jury of the Viktor Academy also awarded two TV shows for having made the greatest impact on the media scene in 2005: Viktors for outstanding achievement went to the reality show "Bar" and the private station INFO TV.
Out of eight Viktors for TV shows in different categories, the 40-member jury, which consisted of the organisers of the Viktorji Awards, awarded "24 ur" of the private station POP TV as best news show.
The Viktor for best TV show went to the comedy series "Our Small Clinic" (Nasa mala klinika), which is broadcast by POP TV, one of the organisers of the gala event.
The best entertainment show Viktor went to TV Slovenia's Sunday afternoon show "One Sunny Afternoon" (Tistega lepega popoldneva).
Marcel Stefancic jr. became best presenter. Stefancic, who is also a well-known film critic, has presented the "Studio City" magazine show on public broadcaster TV Slovenija for several years.
The Viktor for best entertainment presenter meanwhile went to Saso Hribar of the same TV station. His "Hri-bar" show combines computer-animated political satire with a talk show set in a nightclub-style studio.
Audiences were also able to choose their favourite media personalities, so readers of the entertainment magazine "Stop" voted whom to award with five popularity Viktors. They chose up-and-coming singer songwriter Neisha as most popular musician.
A total of 16 Viktor statues, resembling the famous Oscars, were handed out.
