Finnish ski-jumper Janne Happonen took the win at the last World Cup meet of the season on the the giant ski-flying hill at Planica on Sunday.
Happonen topped the competition in both rounds of Sunday's finals, landing at 225.5 and 226.5 metres respectively and finishing with a combined score of 452.9 points.
Martin Koch of Austria finished second with a combined score of 443.0 points on two jumps of 222.5 metres.
Slovenia's Robert Kranjec delighted the home crowd with a third place finish. His combined score on jumps of 220.0 and 223.0 metres was 442.6 points.
"I have been in good form in recent weeks and I really enjoy flying, especially in Planica, as both the hill and atmosphere here are really amazing," said the Finn who is now considered the top favourite for the prestigious Finnish national championships scheduled next week.
After a dream start - a victory and a third place at the opener in Kuusamo - and a rather disappointing rest of the year, Kranjec managed to finish the season on a high note after all. "I am happy it ended this way, I have been preparing two weeks for this. It is a real confidence boost for the future," the 24-year-old said.
The other three Slovenian competitors also made into the top 30, with Jernej Damjan finishing 24th, Bine Zupan 25th and Rok Urbanc 27th.
The head coach of the Slovenians Matjaz Zupan was also relieved to see his team performing very well: "We managed to pull ourselves together again and can look back at the weekend in Planica with satisfaction."
