Slovenia, Hungary Culture Ministers Sign Cooperation Agreement

Budapest, 24 February

Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti and his Hungarian counterpart Andras Bozoki met in Budapest to sign an agreement regarding cooperation in education, science and culture for the 2006-2008 period, the Slovenian Culture Ministry said Friday.

According to the ministry, the agreement details the exchange of exhibitions from the national galleries of both countries, the organisation of Days of Culture and intensive cooperation in the area of heritage protection.
It moreover details the countries' cooperation in the area covered by the EU's television without frontiers directive and the Council of Europe's convention on cross-border television as well as several minority cultural projects.
The pair also discussed plans to present Slovenian culture in Hungary in 2007 and possibilities for joint mid-term projects.
Simoniti and Bozoki moreover discussed the EU's culture 2007-2013 agenda, the mobility of art collections and intercultural dialogue.
