Biathlete Brankovic Carrying Slovenian Flag at Olympic Opening

Turin, 10 February

Biathlete Tadeja Brankovic was carrying Slovenia's flag at Friday's opening of the Winter Olympic Games in Turin.

Brankovic was selected because of her strong World Cup form and because she was not scheduled to compete on Saturday, the Slovenian team said.
"I'm honoured by this decision. I found out over the phone and was pleasantly surprised," said the 36-year-old Brankovic.
