NATO Welcomes Slovenia's Decision to Send Troops to Iraq

Brussels, 12 January

Slovenia's decision to send four soldiers to Iraq to train Iraqi security forces is "good news", NATO representatives told STA on Thursday.

"The NATO mission to train Iraqi security forces in Iraq is the No.1 priority of the Iraqi government," the alliance added.
NATO currently trains middle and high ranking officers in Iraq, with the job done by some 200 instructors and other personnel.
