Slovenian theatre and film actress Iva Krajnc was chosen as one of Europe's "Shooting Stars" for the forthcoming 56th Berlin International Film Festival, the European Film Promotion network announced on Tuesday.

Krajnc is one of 21 up-and-coming European actors and actresses from 21 countries who will be recognised for their talents at the festival that is to take place between 9 and 19 February.
The young actors will take part in a series of events at the opening weekend of the festival (11-13 February), meant to promote their talents to the the international film industry, the EFP added.
Krajnc debuted as a theatre actress at the age of 14 and later graduated from Ljubljana's Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television.
Her most notable theatre performances include Viola in "Twelfth Night", Sasha in "Ivanov" and Honey in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf".
Her film appearances meanwhile include major roles in the epic war drama "Ljubljana je ljubljena" (Beloved Ljubljana) and "Varuh meje" (Guardian of the Frontier), which won several awards in Slovenia and abroad, including the Manfred-Salzgeber prize at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2002.
She has also won the Stop magazine award for Promising Actress of the Year in 2002, as well as the Vesna Best Actress Award at the 2002 Slovenian Film Festival in Portoroz.
