TUESDAY, 20 December
BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU agriculture ministers are to discuss the draft directive for measures in case of bird flu. Slovenian Agriculture Minister Marija Lukacic to take part.
LJUBLJANA - The highlight of the second day of the twelfth regular parliament session will be the likely appointment of Joze P. Damijan as minister without portfolio for overseeing Slovenia's structural reforms.
LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek will hold a new year reception for representatives of the armed forces, the police and the civil protection authority.
KRANJSKA GORA - Men's Ski World Cup comes to Slovenia with Giant Slalom.

LJUBLJANA - Think tank Institute for Strategic Studies is to hold a conference on global events in 2005, followed by a press conference.
LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's largest power producer Holding Slovenske elektrarne is to hold a press conference.

FRIDAY, 23 December
LJUBLJANA - Parliament session marking Independence and Unity Day, with Deputy Speaker Saso Pece set to deliver the keynote address.
LJUBLJANA - Central natinal ceremony marking Independence and Unity Day in Cankarjev Dom, with Speaker France Cukjati delivering the keynote address.
LJUBLJANA - Ljubljana's cathedral is to hold a mass for the homeland, marking Independence and Unity Day, to be given by Maribor Auxiliary Bishop Anton Stres.

SATURDAY, 24 December
LJUBLJANA/MARIBOR/NOVA GORICA - Midnight masses to take place throughout the country in celebration of Christmas Eve.

SUNDAY, 25 December
