Brussels, 08 December

Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel said on Thursday that the arrest of Croatian General Ante Gotovina, wanted for war crimes by the Hague tribunal, was good news.

Rupel, who is attending a regular semi-annual meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, added that Gotovina's arrest would open the NATO door for Croatia.
Gotovina, number 3 on the list of the wanted war criminals from the Balkans, was arrested in Spain on Wednesday evening. He had been on the run since 2001.
