Damijan Accepts Post of Development Minister

Ljubljana, 03 December

Joze P. Damijan, the economist who authored the government's economic reform package, has agreed to take over as minister without portfolio for the coordination and monitoring of Slovenia's development strategy.

The government adopted the resolution to establish the department on 17 November. Damijan has been the top candidate for the post, but the government had refused to talk about names. The new government department is to be formally established in early 2006.
