Petkovsek and Pegan Crown Season with World Champions Titles

Melbourne, 27 November

The 38th World Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne, Australia has ended with a double Slovenian victory, which saw Mitja Petkovsek on parallel bars and Aljaz Pegan on high bar become world champions.

Petkovsek opened the finals and remained in first position with a score of 9.700, followed by China's Li Xiaopeng (9.675) and Frenchman Yann Cucherat (9.662). He was joined as world champion by Aljaz Pegan, who cleaned up with 9.662 on high bar. Second place went to Frenchman Yann Cucherat (9.650), while Ukraine's Valeri Goncharov (9.637) bagged bronze.
