EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana promised to help Slovenia and Croatia resolve their bilateral issues last week, the week in which participating states of the OSCE, which is chaired by Slovenia this year, managed to agree a new scale of budget contributions, something that Russia was rather dissatisfied with. The staging of the OSCE ministerial meeting will be a testament to Slovenia's role as an active and responsible member of the international community, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel believes.
PM Janez Jansa and FM Dimitrij Rupel were in Slovakia for a CEI summit. Prime Minister Janez Jansa, who is a member of the troika as Slovenia chaired the CEI last year, pointed to economic cooperation, saying that it would be a good move if Central European Initiative countries attracted more investment.
