Slovenia will help Pakistan, which was hit by a major earthquake on Saturday, with SIT 100m (EUR 420,000) in goods and money, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel told the press on Monday.
According to Rupel, Pakistan will receive about EUR 300,000 plus 250 cots, 500 blakets and ten tents worth about EUR 120,000.
Rupel stressed that the government was shocked and saddened by the mounting death toll caused by the earthquake, which also rocked neighbouring countries.
He said that such events require that the international community pool resources and help the governments of affected countries.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Janez Jansa sent condolences to his Pakistani and Indian counterparts, Aziz Shaukat and Manmohan Singh.
Jansa expressed sympathies with the survivors whose relatives have been killed, and all those in any way affected by the earthquake, the PM's office reported.
