Musicologist Primoz Kuret Receives Austrian Medal

Ljubljana, 23 June

Historian and musicologist Primoz Kuret on Thursday received the "Cross of Honour for Science and Art" of the first order, conferred by the Republic of Austria for his outstanding achievement in promoting cooperation between Austria and Slovenia.

Kuret received the award for forging exceptional human and cultural ties in musicology, said the Austrian embassy in a press release. The award was conferred by Austrian Ambassador Valentin Inzko.
Kuret was also one of this year's recipients of the prestigious Herder Prize, awarded each year for the promotion of cultural ties in Eastern and Southeast Europe.
