The fourth Spring Festival began in Ljubljana, with central events taking place in Tivoli Park. According to the organisers, this is "the only open-air international festival of electronic music and visual arts".
The purpose of the festival is to revive the city centre and offer young people quality fun, mainly free of charge, Ljubljana Mayor Danica Simsic has recently told a press conference.
The events, taking place from 5 until 14 May, will include workshops, an outdoor library, open-air kitchen "Cuisines of the World" and daily concerts, according to the producer of the festival Tina Popovic. Also, the Ljubljana centre will host a street flower exhibition "ProstoRoz".
The musical festival will consist of two parts, open-air concerts and concerts in different clubs, explained Martin Bricelj, chair of the CodeEp association, the organiser of the festival.
On 13 May, several Slovenian and foreign DJs will perform at Tivoli's Mediapark Flower Shop, among others Precision Cuts (Great Britain), Boozig&Garfield (France), Lucidhouse (Great Britain), JAMirko (Slovenia) and Dj Borka (Slovenia).
A day later, he club LunaPark at Kodeljevo Castle will host groups Inverse Cinematics (Germany), Enes Haracic (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and Slovenia's Code.EP team.
In the old power station in Ljubljana, Chinese political posters will be exhibited under from 5 until 26 May, and series of lectures on copyrights will take place from 9 until 12 May. An audio-visual workshop Videoluxus will be open to visitors as well.
