Novo mesto, 13 April

Adria Mobil, the Novo mesto-based maker of campers and caravans, saw rapid growth in 2004, when its net sales revenues grew by 41.5 percent to 209 million euros. Its operating profit was up 31 percent to over 10 million euros, the company said on Wednesday.

In a special press conference marking 40 years operations at Adria Mobil, general manager Sonja Gole said the company had expanded to be present on 26 markets around the world today.
According to Gole, Adria Mobil is now the sixth-biggest producer of campers and caravans in Europe with a market share of 6.5 percent.

The company, which was acquired by Autocommerce group in October 2004, produced 13,000 campers and caravans last year, Gole added.

The company plans to up its revenues by 5 percent this year. Adria Mobil intends to focus on increasing sales in Britain, France, Italy, Germany and Sweden, she added.

The mid-term goal is to become Europe's third-biggest producer of campers and caravans.

The company will move production to a new EUR 35m state of the art factory in the southeastern town of Novo mesto this year.

Moreover, Adria Mobil will employ an additional 40 workers this year, while 100 to 300 workers are expected to be hired in the coming years, increasing the workforce to over 1,000.

According to the chairman of Autocommerce, Herman Rigelnik, the integration of Adria Mobil into the group has brought extensive synergies for both sides.

Rigelnik also ended months of speculation today by announcing the group would go public, expectedly in July.
