Ljubljana, 3 March

An NGO was established on Thursday that will aim at boosting cooperation with people in developing countries. The aim of the Centre for North-South Development Cooperation is to fight poverty, boost sustainable global development and achieve fair distribution of global resources.

The centre will make efforts to develop various forms of cooperation between cultures that lead to better understanding of global problems, boost solidarity and promote joint actions that overcome cultural and national frontiers.
The main task will be to encourage the ability of individuals to organise in the fight against poverty and other forms of social exclusion.
The centre will also make efforts to eliminate political reasons of poverty, it will be informing the public about global problems and mobilise people to take part in development initiatives and encourage inter-cultural understanding and global solidarity.
