Largest Environment Project so Far Gets EUR 1M from the EU

Ljubljana, 27 January

The Environment Protection Institute on Thursday inaugurated a new management model and information system, the first phase of the largest environmental project so far in Slovenia.

This signals the launch of the EU's Nature 2000 programme, which has been awarded one million euros by the EU's LIFE environmental programme.
The official inauguration of the project was attended by Erwan Fouere, the head of the European Commission Representation Office in Slovenia, and Environment Minister Janez Podobnik.
Since 2001, the European Commission has awarded Slovenia EUR 6.8m for environmental projects from the LIFE - Nature environmental funding programme.
