Easyjet Sells 10,000 Tickets to Berlin

Ljubljana, 25 November

Easyjet, Europe's second-largest low-cost airline, said it had already sold 10,000 tickets in Slovenia for its newly-launched route from Ljubljana to Berlin.

Easyjet only began flying on the Ljubljana-Berlin route on Thursday, nevertheless the interest expressed by Slovenians in flying to the German capital has been enormous.
Easyjet has sold more tickets on the route in Slovenia than it has in Germany.
Speaking about the new route, the head of the company managing Ljubljana's international airport said that Easyjet had already proven itself a reliable partner with its daily flight to London.
Aerodrom Ljubljana chairman Vinko Moze said he hoped that the cooperation between his company and Easyjet would continue to grow in the future.
The Slovenian Tourist Board has already attempted to capitalise on the low-cost flights Easyjet offers to Ljubljana by launching a campaign to drum up interest for Slovenia as a tourist destination.
Analysts point out that the Slovenian tourism sector is hoping the Berlin-Ljubljana route will prove to be as big a success as the London-Ljubljana route has been so far.
The latter has helped raise the number of British tourists visiting Slovenia by over 50 percent this year.
Easyjet's arrival in Ljubljana has also helped Aerodrom's results, with the company registering a 13 percent rise in revenues and a 7 percent jump in profit in the first nine months of the year.
