Finest Wines and Culinary Delights at 7th Wine Festival

Ljubljana, 18 November

More than 100 wine makers from Slovenia and abroad will present over 350 wine samples at the 7th Slovenian Festival of Wine, due to open at Ljubljana's Hotel Slon on Thursday afternoon.

Apart from wines by Slovenian growers, the festival features some of the finest wines of Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia-Montenegro, New Zealand, Chile and Spain.
Until Saturday, the visitors were also able to enjoy culinary delicacies and an exhibition of unique artistic features on the labels of finest wines made by artists at a workshop held in the wine growing region of Goriska brda last summer.
The festival also featured lectures on how to serve and consume wine, what food different wines combine with and other topics related to the culture of enjoying wine.
The ten best ranked wines of the day were offered for tasting at guided tours. The wines were evaluated by an expert commission, while registered visitors were selecting the most enjoyable wine of the day.
