Calendar of Events in the Week From 18 to 24 October

TUESDAY, 19 October LJUBLJANA - Visiting Slovenia will be Hessen Premier Roland Koch, who is touring the new EU states and promoting German state of Hessen and Frankfurt on Main as business and financial centres. His delegation will include vice-chair of the German Federal Bank management Hans Reckers. Koch will meet Foreign Minister Ivo Vajgl and participate at a presentation of Slovenian-Hessen cooperation at the Chamber of Commerce. President of the Hessen Parliament Norbert Kartmann will meet Speaker of the Parliament Feri Horvat.

TUESDAY, 19 October
LJUBLJANA - Head of the representation of the European Commission in Slovenia Erwan Fouere will take part in a forum on research and technological challenges of the border control in the EU-25 area. The forum is organised by the European Commission with cooperation of relevant directorates.
LJUBLJANA - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Milan Pogacnik will sign and hand over to the Agency for Agricultural Markets and Rural Development the act on approving it as the paying agency for payments of the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF).

THURSDAY, 21 October
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - EU finance ministers' council, where Slovenia will be represented by Finance Minister Dusan Mramor.
LJUBLJANA - Regular weekly session of the government.

FRIDAY, 22 October
LJUBLJANA - The newly-elected parliament will meet for the maiden session.
LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs is organising an international conference on safety in construction at the conclusion of the European week of health and safety at work.
PORTOROZ - The Slovenian Incoming Workshop (SIW) 2004, organised by the Slovenian Tourist Board, will hold its plenary session.

SATURDAY, 23 October
SLOVENJ GRADEC - Main state ceremony to mark the United Nations Day.

SUNDAY, 24 October
LJUBLJANA - United Nations Day.
