Ljubljana, 14 October

The largest youth educational fair in Slovenia – the Student Arena – was organized by the Association of Students’ Clubs of Slovenia and the Student Organization of the University of Ljubljana.

According to information from the organizers, the Ljubljana Fairgrounds were visited by over 8500 young people on the first day of the fair, and about 1100 students participated in educational events. On the second day of the Student Arena, which included an employment fair and the innovative Career Crossroads, according to the organizers there were even more visitors, and this year’s attendance will definitely exceed last year’s success, when the fair was visited by over 24,000 young people.

The numerous presentations at the Student Arena in the fields of education, culture and leisure time included over 90 educational lectures, workshops, round tables and tea parties, at which over 100 lecturers participated. Over 250 companies and organizations were also represented, who offered visitors the opportunity to make contacts with respected employers at the Career Crossroads. This year’s fair also included a project of collecting pasta for poor families in Albania, which was prepared in cooperation with Slovene Caritas.

The mission of the Student Arena is to become a central linking project in the Slovene and European spheres, which through its visitors and participants creates added value for the knowledge and innovativeness of young people and thus ensures their sustainable development.
