Elections on Sunday are without doubt the top event of the week.

Tuesday, 28 September
· Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union and High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana will be on an official visit to Slovenia. Our guest will meet with President of the Republic Janez Drnovšek, Prime Minister Anton Rop, and with host Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivo Vajgl.
· Beginning of absentee voting

Thursday, 30 September
· Regular weekly Governmental session.
· The Constitutional Court of the RS together with the Venice Commission will hold a two-day international conference entitled The Position of Constitutional Courts after joining the European Union. The participants will be from Cyprus, the Czech Rep., Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Friday, 1 October
· Minister of Finance and Governor for the Republic of Slovenia at the World Bank Dušan Mramor will participate with a delegation in the spring meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, which will be held in Washington from 1 to 3 October.
· The beginning of 10th festival of contemporary arts City of Women that will take place until October 7.

Saturday, 2 October
· Pre-election silence (ban on political advertising and campaigning)

Sunday, 3 October
· Election of deputies to the National Assembly.
· Golden Drum Advertising Festival begins. The festival will run until 8 October.
