Temporary Autonomous Zone
The Temporary Autonomous Zone, an interesting music-and-dance event, is to take place in Cankarjev dom of Ljubljana by the end of September.
The show was created in co-production between the Exodos Institute and Cankarjev dom, when the "urban tribe" of The Stroj encountered modern dance. This is a major production this year featuring for the first time The Stroj, a spectacular group of percussionists.
At their live performances The Stroj band, referring to themselves as the urban tribe, reaches the dimensions of a spectacle, leaving the audience astonished at them being so bold and unusual. Their performance is enhanced by a special light show and fire-works effects, and in the Temporary Autonomous Zone this will be enriched with the involvement of dancers. In the Temporary Autonomous Zone the language of casks and metal, which create unique atmosphere and are main instruments of The Stroj, will be met by dance, turning the atmosphere upside down and around as well as setting new rules. In addition to The Stroj other authors of the show are dancer and choreographer Matej Kej¾ar and musician and music producer Aldo Ivančič, who also initiated this project.
