Electoral Ballot Redesigned

Ljubljana, September 16

The National Electoral Commission has defined a uniform ballot design for the October 3 Elections.

Unlike ballots for the year 2000 Parliamentary Elections, this year's ballots will be colour-printed. In eight electoral units, the candidate lists on the ballot will appear in a column, in a sequence determined by lot. The list sequence on a ballot will vary according to electoral unit, and inside each electoral unit, ballots will differ according to electoral district. There will, therefore, be 88 different ballots used for this year's Parliamentary Elections, which corresponds to the number of electoral districts.
