It Looks Most Promising for the Liberal Democrats
Ljubljana, 11 September
Recent public opinion polls indicate that the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia party would garner the most votes if the election were held today, followed by the Slovenian democrats.
During the past three weeks public opinion polls have been gaining increasing importance. After the Public Opinion and Mass Communication Research Centre at the Faculty of Social Sciences published its most recent monthly "Politbarometer" opinion poll on Friday, 3 September on the forthcoming elections, all of the major media in Slovenia have published their own new opinion polls over the past few days. Pursuant to the elections act, the deadline for publishing polls in the media is seven days before election day. The table below summarises only a few of the recent opinion polls conducted by the most prominent Slovenian media, and contain data only for those parties which have already had their representatives in parliament.
