Biennale of Industrial Design About to Open

Ljubljana, 7 September

This year's Biennale of Industrial Design marks the 19th time for the event to be held between 15th September and 15th October.

Some 268 designers from Slovenia and some 200 from twelve European countries and the USA have registered. The registered items –exhibits at the central exhibition in the Architectural Museum of the Fužine Castle in Ljubljana, will be divided into three sections: products, information functional systems and overall image, and designer schemes. Works will be assessed by an international jury of experts.

In joining the European Union some new prospects are opening up for Slovene designers in the area of design. However, while designers believe it is important to produce work of high quality and to prove reliable, they also feel it important to be different.
