Potočnik in the field of Science and Research

Brussels, August

Janez Potočnik was nominated for Science and Research in the new Commission.

As the President-designate of the European Commission José Manuel Barosso presented the 24 nominee Commissioners, Janez Potočnik was nominated for Science and technology. Potočnik was very satisfied with his assigned post and has pointed to fulfilment of the goals of the Lisbon strategy as one of the major challenges during his mandate. The new Commission will take office on 1 November 2004 following parliamentary approval.
