Slovene Embassy in Vienna as Contact for NATO in Austria

Ljubljana, 1 September

As of 1 September the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Vienna takes over duties as contact NATO embassy to the Republic of Austria.

NATO has contact embassies in the non-member states that take part in the Partnership for Peace. Taking over the duties of the contact NATO embassy in Vienna represents a point of recognition and honour to Slovenia, since Austria is an important NATO partner country. It also underlines the fact that Slovenia plays an active role as a full member of NATO.
