Srdjan Živulovič / Russian chapel under Vršič (1,611m) - a First World War memorial. In 1915, more than 10,000 Russian prisoners of war started building 21 km of road over Vršič. An avalanche buried a group of 110 prisoners and 6 or 7 guards. In 1917 the survivors built a simple chapel in memory of their unfortunate comrades.
