Elections to the National Assembly in 1992

At the parliamentary elections in 1992 the following parties entered the National Assembly:

  • LDS (Liberal Democratic Party) - 23.5%
  • SKD (Slovenian Christian Democrats) - 14.5%
  • ZLSD (Associated List) - 13.6%
  • SNS (Slovenian National Party) - 10.00% (a new party)
  • SLS (Slovenian People's Party) - 8.7%
  • DEMOKRATI (Democratic Party) - 5.0%
  • ZELENI (Greens of Slovenia) - 3.7%
  • SDSS (Social Democratic Party of Slovenia) - 3.3%

One deputy each was elected to represent the Italian and Hungarian ethnic communities. They were elected by members of these ethnic communities according to the majority system.

Results

  • 1,491,374 voters had the right to vote.
  • 1,277,604 votes were cast by 7.00 p.m.
  • The turnout was 85.6%.
