Anže Logar was born on 15 May 1976 in Ljubljana. In 2000, he graduated at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana. In January 2006, he obtained his MA degree at The Graduate School of Government and European Studies in Brdo pri Kranju.

In 2000, he was employed by SKB banka. In January 2003, he resigned from the post of product manager in the marketing department and was the first Slovene to be employed by the European Parliament. He worked as the advisor for Slovenia to the European People's Party - European Democrats (Christian Democrats). He actively participated in the preparations of the EPP-ED Group for the first European parliamentary elections after the enlargement in 2004 and then served as a PR for the Slovenian MEPs, members of EPP-ED.

In 2006, he took on the post of Public Relations Officer at the Government Office for European Affairs, the central coordinating body in the preparations for Slovenia's EU Presidency in the first half of 2008.

He is fluent in English and French and has a passive command of Portuguese.

On 16 February 2007, Lithuanian Independence Day, the Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus conferred upon him a state award - the 'Life Saving Cross' for his services in saving a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania Mantvydas Juozapavičius from drowning in one of the Hungarian lakes.

On 15 June 2007, the Government appointed him Acting Director of the Government Communication Office and on 20 December 2007 the Director of the Government Communication Office.
