Referenda on the accession to the EU and NATO in Slovenia on Sunday, 23 March 2003
You may pick-up your accreditation and information pack (information about Slovenia, information about the EU and NATO campaigns, latest opinion polls, contact persons to be available for interviews and background information during the week-end) on:
- Friday, 21 March at the Government PR and Media Office, SLOVENSKA 29, 6th floor, from 1pm to 5pm
- Saturday, 22 March at the Government PR and Media Office, ENTRANCE SLOVENSKA 27, 6th floor, from 10am to 2pm
- Sunday, 23 March at the reception counter at Cankarjev dom, ENTRANCE PRESERNOVA 10, from 8am on
Media centre
Media centre at Cankarjev dom will be equipped with
- 100 workstations (60 PCs and 40 standard modem RJ11or RJ12 analogue plug for modem connection)
- 100 ISDN telephones
- fax machines
- 2 video-walls switched to TV Slovenia and POP TV news programmes (conference translation for TV Slovenia will be available)
- 2 large displays showing real-time results, as the data will be processed after 7pm
We expect to have the first provisional results of referenda available at about 8pm, and the Prime Minister Mr Anton Rop to held a press conference sometime soon afterwards, probably at 8:30pm or later (to be confirmed in detail on Sunday evening). We invited the Slovene Government ministers, Speaker of Parliament, MPs, chairmen of political parties and Ambassadors of the EU and NATO member and candidate countries accredited to Slovenia to visit the media centre in the evening. Among the visitors we expect also Mr Pat Cox MEP, President of the European Parliament to join us at about 9pm. Media centre will be open until midnight.
