European Affairs State Secretary Janez Lenarcic is to visit Montenegro upon the invitation by Gordana Djurovic, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integrations Lenarcic is also to meet Foreign Minister Milan Rocen and Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic.

Visit of Finnish Parliament Speaker Paavo Lipponen
Finnish Parliament Speaker Paavo Lipponen is to arrive in Slovenia upon the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart France Cukjati. The pair is to meet at 9 am and speak to the press at 10 am. Lipponen is to talk to representatives of the parliamentary committees on foreign policy and EU affairs at 10:30 am. He is also scheduled to meet President Janez Drnovsek at 11:30 am, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel at noon, and Prime Minister Janez Jansa at 1 pm. At 3:20 pm Lipponen is to meet heads of deputy groups.

Visit of representatives of the European Space Agency
Representatives of the European Space Agency (ESA), headed by the director for legal and international affairs Rene Oosterlinck, is to begin a two-day visit to Slovenia. The delegation is to be received by Higher Education State Secretary Dusan Lesjak and MEP Alojz Peterle. Lesjak, Peterle and Oosterlinck are to hold a press conference at 12:30 pm.

The cabinet is to hold its weekly session. The agenda includes amendments to the act on working time and compulsory rest periods for professional drivers. A press conference is to be held at 1 pm.

Meeting of foreign ministers of the regional partnership
Foreign Affairs Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to take part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the regional partnership, which also includes Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The highlight of the event will be a meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammad El Baradei and Special UN Envoy for Kosovo Martti Ahtisaari.

Cabinet's one day visit to the northeastern region of Prekmurje
The cabinet will be visiting the northeastern-most region of Prekmurje, Slovenia's poorest region. The government is first scheduled to hold a working meeting (9:30 AM), followed by separate talks held by the prime minister and other members of his cabinet. PM Janez Jansa, accompanied by Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik, is to meet representatives of the Roma ethnic community at Moravske Toplice at noon. The government will wrap up its visit in Radenci with a meeting with mayors, CEOs, MPs and councillors from the region (6 PM). PM Jansa is to hold a press conference at Murska Sobota at 4:45 PM, followed by a press conference featuring Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak, Environment Minister Janez Podobnik and Transport Minister Janez Bozic.

Visit of the chief of staff of the Croatian Armed Forces
General Josip Lucic, the chief of staff of the Croatian Armed Forces is to be visiting Slovenia at the invitation of his counterpart, Lieutenant-General Albin Gutman. While the host will be briefed on the development of the Slovenian Armed Forces and experience in crisis response operations, bilateral cooperation is also expected to be on the agenda. Both chiefs of staff are scheduled to give a statement for the press at 2:30 pm.

Departure of a Slovenian Armed Forces unit to ISAF mission
A Slovenian Armed Forces unit is to depart to Afghanistan to relieve the previous rotation. The 53 soldiers of the Sicon 7 ISAF force are to stay in the Asian country until the end of August.

Environment and Spatial Planning Minister's visit to Brussels
Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik is to meet European Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas and his German and Portuguese counterparts Sigmar Gabriel and Francisco Nunes Correia ahead of a meeting of EU environment ministers on Tuesday. The minister is also slated to meet representatives of environmental NGOs. Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik is to take part in the session of the EU Environment Council, which is to focus on climate change with emphasis on the development of an international climate regime beyond 2012, when the Kyoto Protocol expires.

Cypriot Foreign Minister Yiorgos Lillikas is to pay an official visit to Slovenia at the invitation of his counterpart Dimitrij Rupel, for talks centred around bilateral cooperation and EU topics. Lillikas is also scheduled to meet President Janez Drnovsek and Speaker of Parliament France Cukjati. Both ministers will be on hand for a press conference at noon.

International conference on ethnic and religious relations in Kosovo
A panel on intercultural dialogue and spreading of democracy is to take place at 6 pm, on the eve of the launch of a international conference on ethnic and religious relations in Kosovo. The panel will feature FM Dimitrij Rupel, US political scientist Benjamin Barber and Giandomenico Picco, the former personal representative of the UN secretary general for the UN nations year of dialogue among civilisations.
