Official Visit of Chinese State Councillor Tang Jiaxuan
Chinese State Councillor Tang Jiaxuan will begin an official visit to Slovenia at the invitation of Prime Minister Janez Janša, the first high-level state visit by a Chinese official to Slovenia in four years. He is will meet PM Janez Janša, President of the Republic Janez Drnovšek, and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel.

PM Janez Janša’s Presentation of the Proposal for Tax Reforms
PM Janez Janša is to meet presidents and deputy group chairs of coalition parties to unveil the proposal for tax reforms. The tax reform package will also be presented to the Development Partnership council. Prime Minister is to be joined by Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk in presenting the reforms to trade unions, which is to be followed by a press conference by Minister Bajuk and Finance Ministry State Secretary Andrej Šircelj.

Senior officials from the Slovenian, Czech and Austrian transport ministries will sign a memorandum of understanding on the priority treatment, development and use of the rail corridor Prague - Ceske Budejovice - Linz - Graz - Maribor - Ljubljana - Koper.

Japanese Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kazuo Kitagawa will meet Slovenian delegation led by Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak and President Janez Drnovšek on the last day of his visit to Slovenia.

EU foreign ministers about the participation of member states in the UN mission in Lebanon
EU foreign ministers are to convene an extraordinary meeting at 3 PM to debate the participation of member states in the UN mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Slovenia, which will be represented by FM Dimitrij Rupel, has not made a final decision on its contribution yet.

Annexation of Prekmurje Remembered as National Holiday
A national holiday, marking the unification of Slovenia's northeasternmost region of Prekmurje with what was in 1919 Yugoslavia's predecessor, will be marked in Slovenia. The day is not a bank holiday. The central ceremony, at which PM Janez Jansa is to be the speaker of honour, will take place on Friday.

Several EU interior ministers, including Slovenia's Dragutin Mate, are to meet UK Home Secretary John Reid to discuss aviation security in the wake of a recent terror plot broken up by the British police.

Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of the EU (GAERC)
Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel will attend the extraordinary meeting of the Council of the European Union (GAERC), at which the EU foreign ministers will discuss the Middle East crisis.
