FM Rupel Heading for Washington for OSCE PA Meeting
Foreign Minister and OSCE chairman Dimitrij Rupel is scheduled to begin a four-day visit to the United States and Canada as part of which he is to attend the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Washington. On Friday, he is to hold an address at the launch of the OSCE PA session and is to meet US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Rupel is to wrap up his visit on Sunday with a visit to Toronto, where he is due to meet the Slovenian community living in Canada.

Govt in Savinjsko-Salesko Region Today
The government is due in the region of the Savinja and Saleska valleys, east, on Wednesday in what is a fifth visit on its tour of all Slovenian regions. PM Janez Jansa and the ministers are scheduled to meet local business people, as well as mayors and MPs from the region. A news conference by PM Janez Jansa is scheduled for 3:15 PM.

EU leaders will meet for a summit to find a way out of the crisis in the aftermath of the double "no" vote on the constitution. They will also attempt to reach an agreement on the EU's budget framework for the 2007-2013 period. The meeting, which is expected to last for two-days, is to be attended by PM Janez Jansa, FM Dimitrij Rupel and State Secretary for European Affairs Marcel Koprol. Ahead of the summit, Jansa is to take part in a meeting of leaders from the ranks of the European People's Party (EPP).
