Constitutional Courts Gather to Debate Impact of EU on Their Work
Constitutional court judges from new and old EU members as well as representatives of the EU's common judicial institutions will gather at Bled today for a conference entitled "Position of Constitutional Court Following Integration into the EU". The participants will be addressed on the opening day by Slovenian Constitutional Court President Dragica Wedam Lukic, PM Anton Rop and head of the European Commission representation in Slovenia Erwan Fouere. On behalf of the Venice Commission, participants will be addressed by judge Didier Maus.

As part of his visit, Cvikl is scheduled to meet President of the Court of Justice, Vasilis Skuris (at 3 PM) and Slovenian judge at this court, Marko Ilesic. Meetings with Slovenian member of the Court of Auditors Vojko Antoncic (at 11:30 AM) and judge at the Court of First Instance, Verica Trstenjak (at 12:30) are also scheduled.

EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana will be paying a working visit to Slovenia
Solana is scheduled to meet President Janez Drnovsek at Brdo pri Kranju this evening, when he will also be conferred the state order for his merits in international diplomacy. On Tuesday, he is due to hold talks with Prime Minister Anton Rop and Foreign Minister Ivo Vajgl.

Austrian President Heinz Fischer is due in Slovenia on Wednesday for an official visit that is seen as a confirmation of good-neighbourly relations. Fischer, who is coming to Slovenia for the first time as president, is scheduled to meet his counterpart Janez Drnovsek, Prime Minister Anton Rop, Speaker of Parliament Feri Horvat and heads of parliamentary factions.

Home Ministers from the Region to Discuss Illegal Immigration
Interior ministers from the neighbouring countries and SE Europe are due to meet at Brdo pri Kranju today for the 4th regional conference on illegal immigration and related crime. This year the conference will focus on ways to further consolidate and upgrade regional cooperation in the fight against illegal immigration. Ahead of the conference, the interior ministers of Slovenia, Austria and Italy will meet just west of the point where the borders of their countries meet to sign an agreement on cooperation in the Thoerl - Maglern police centre, Austria.
