Conference on the prevention of trafficking in persons entitled "Are We Aware?".
The association Kljuc (Key), an NGO fighting trafficking in person, is to host the conference. The events starts at 1:30 PM and a press conference is scheduled for 4:40 PM. Foreign Ministry State Secretary Samuel Zbogar is to receive Helga Konrad, OSCE special representative for the fight against people trafficking and head of the SE Europe Stability Pact working group on the prevention of trafficking in persons, who is to attend the conference.

The foreign ministers from 17 member states of the Central European Initiative (CEI) and the smaller but largely coinciding Adriatic Ionian Initiative will be holding respective annual meetings as Slovenia currently holds the rotating presidency of both forums. The foreign ministers of the Adriatic Ionian Initiative will review the achievements over the past year and adopt a Portoroz declaration. On this occasion, Serbia-Montenegro will officially take over the 12-month presidency from Slovenia. Members of the CEI troika are to speak to the press at 1:15 PM. Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is scheduled to hold another conference after the AII meeting, at 6:30 PM.

President of the European Council, Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern, is due to arrive in Ljubljana on Thursday afternoon as part of his tour of EU capitals ahead of the Council's June session. He is to meet Prime Minister Anton Rop and President Janez Drnovsek. Ahern and Slovenian Prime Minister Anton Rop are expected to focus in their talks, due to begin at 2:30 PM, on a new EU constitutional treaty and on who will be the next president of the European Commission. The ceremonial opening of the exhibition will take place on Monday, 17 May 2004 in the exhibition hall of the National and University Library in Ljubljana.
