Regular session of the Government
At its weekly session, the government is to discuss a programme of measures aimed at an effective entry into the EU, a draft budget memorandum for 2004 and 2005, and changes to the takeover act.

Slovenian Prime Minister Anton Rop is expected to present his EU-shaping programme to the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce (GZS).

Interior Minister Rado Bohinc Visiting Macedonia
Slovenian Interior Minister Rado Bohinc is scheduled to visit Macedonia, where he is to meet with Macedonian counterpart Hari Kostov. Bilateral co-operation in the fight against terrorism, organised crime and drug trafficking are expected to be top discussions.

German Finance Minister Hans Eichel is scheduled to visit Slovenia at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Dusan Mramor
His visit comes as part of a tour of the future EU member states. Apart from meeting Mramor - a press conference is scheduled for 12:30 PM - Eichel is also due to meet with Slovenian Prime Minister Anton Rop and Bank of Slovenia Governor Mitja Gaspari.

Unions and Gov't to Sign Public Sector Annex Deal Today
Representatives of the Slovenian government and public sector trade unions are to sign (10:00 AM) an annex to the collective agreement for the non-corporate sector and an agreement on wage growth and holiday allowance for the upcoming two years.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin is paying a three-day working visit to Slovenia together with a sizeable delegation of businessmen and bankers and delegations of the Duma and the Federation Council
Kudrin is to be received by Prime Minister Anton Rop at 12:30PM, Finance Minister Dusan Mramor at 11 AM and FM Dimitrij Rupel at 3:15 PM. On Sunday, the Russian guests will be present at a traditional rememberance ceremony in the memory of Russian prisoners of WWI, who died in an 1916 avalanche while constructing a mountain pass is to take place on Vršič.

Irish Prime Minister in Slovenia
Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern is arriving in Slovenia today as part of Ireland's preparations for EU presidency, due through the first half of 2004. At 4 PM he is to meet Prime Minister Anton Rop, with a press conference scheduled for 5:35 PM. At 6 PM a reception given by President Janez Drnovsek is scheduled.

At its extraordinary session , the government is to discuss the macro-fiscal framework for the 2004-2007 period and the proposed distribution of budget funds as a basis for the 2004 and 2005 budget drafting.

FM Rupel to Attend EU Ministerial Meeting
Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to head to Brussels on Monday to participate at the regular monthly meeting of the EU foreign ministers. Topping the agenda of the final meeting before the ministers go on holidays will be the situation in the Middle East, Iraq, Iran and the Balkans.

A standing commission of the 10th pan-European transport corridor
A standing commission of the 10th pan-European transport corridor is to begin its 5th, two-day, session. 40 representatives from the countries along this transport route - Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia-Montenegro, Bulgaria and Greece - and officials of international organisation are to take part.

Maltese Interior Minister Expected in Slovenia Today
Maltese Minister of Justice and Domestic Affairs Tonio Borg is to pay a visit. Togehter with his Slovenian counterpart Rado Bohinc, Borg is to sign a co-operation accord to fight organised crime. Preparations for EU membership are to be discussed as well.

Slovenia's economic and social council is to meet to discuss the common memorandum on social inclusion and health reform for 2003.

Finance ministers of the EU to gather for a meeting
Finance ministers of the EU are to gather for a two-day meeting which is also to be attended by ministers from the acceding countries, among them Slovenia's Dusan Mramor. Mramor is also expected to partake in the session of Ecofina and meet with European Commissioner for the Economic and Monetary Affairs Pedro Solbes.

Slovenian Tranport Minister goes to Spain
Slovenian Transport Minister Jakob Presecnik is to pay a two-day visit to Spain at the invitation of Spanish Development Minister Francisco Alvarez Cascosa Fernandez. Presecnik is to attend an infrastructure forum between the two countries.

Slovenian Minister of European Affairs Janez Potocnik is to begin a two-day visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Apart from meeting with top Bosnian officials, Potocnik is to address a seminar at which Slovenia's experiences with EU integration are to be presented.

President of Serbia-Montenegro to Pay First Official Visit
President of Serbia-Montenegro Svetozar Marovic is to pay his first official visit to Slovenia on Wednesday and Thursday upon the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Janez Drnovsek. During the visit, Marovic is also to meet with Prime Minister Anton Rop, Speaker of Parliament Borut Pahor and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel.
