Slovenia at the Olympic Games in London

A Slovenian team of sixty-five men and women was competing at the Olympic Games in London. Slovenia being aware of the importance and role of the Olympic Games for its promotion thus opened an Olympic meeting place for competitors, media, fans and visitors from Slovenia and other parts of the world - a place for musical events, gatherings and celebrations of the achievements of Slovenian sport in this year's Olympic capital. This meeting place was in a London pub called The Forge & Foundry Bar and Restaurant located in Camden Town.

"Silent Revolutions" / Contemporary Design in Slovenia

The presentation of products selected for the exhibition includes designs that have marked the first two decades of Slovenian independence and have greatly added to the international competitiveness and establishment of the Slovenian economy, as well as promoting Slovenia abroad.


The exhibition presents a wide range of products and masterpieces: from filigree-made turntables by Franc Kuzma, and Black Cherry Lamps lighting solutions by the designer Nika Zupanc, to modular facade systems by Trimo Ltd., and the hybrid vehicle Greenline 33 Hybrid by Seaway Ltd. Visitors can also see Elan’s revolutionary WaveFlex skis, co-produced with the Gigodesign studio, the Racing Elite Nordic ski boots by Alpina, developed with the Jure Miklavc studio, and Gorenje’s Simplicity line of household appliances created in the Gorenje design studio.

  • 4-9 June, Belgrade Design Week 2012, Belgrade
    The touring exhibition of contemporary Slovenian industrial design Silent Revolutions will be presented in June in Belgrade in Serbia. It will be displayed between 4 and 9 June 2012 during Belgrade Design Week on main venue of design events at the renovated building of National Library of Serbia. The opening, on 6 June, 8 p.m., will be attended by the H.E. Franc But, the Ambassador of Slovenia in Serbia

    After two-dozen showpieces of Slovenian industrial design were presented in London last September as the first major international presentation of Slovenian product design in the past twenty years, the "Silent Revolutions" show was on display in Italy's Milan, between 10 February and 1 April 2012.

Slovenian days in Milan

Between 10 February and 1 April 2012, Slovenia is being showcased in Milan and Lombardy; the main events of the presentation take place between 10 and 19 February. The tourist, economic, cultural and political presentation of Slovenia is encompassed by the slogan ‘I Feel Slovenia - Feel the Green’ (‘I Feel Slovenia - Cogli il verde’ in Italian). 

The coordinator of the Slovenian presentation in the capital of Lombardy is the Government Communications Office of the Republic of Slovenia (UKOM).
