Editorial

After the heads of the Party of Miro Cerar (SMC), the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) and the Social Democrats (SD) signed Monday a coalition agreement, the new government is expected to be inaugurated on 18 September.

Alenka Bratušek, the outgoing prime minister, is formally a candidate for Slovenia's member of the European Commission, according to a list presented on Friday by European Commission President-elect Jean-Claude Juncker.

While Slovenia's openness to foreign investors has been questioned in the past decade, the sale of airport operator Aerodrom Ljubljana on Friday is the latest in a line of takeovers of several key corporations in the country.
